For Leasing Brokers
LEASING BROKERS

Mesa Leasing sometimes wears two hats. While Mesa does occasionally work with lessees and some vendors directly, our main focus is the development of our own portfolio through independent equipment leasing brokers. Mesa Leasing works with brokers to structure solutions for those applications that cannot be approved at their traditional sources of funding. It’s our money and we make the decisions. We are not a super-broker!

When we are successful in structuring a solution for your client, our Brokers are protected. Your client and your vendor are both flagged in our system as your account. If Mesa Leasing is ever contacted by either, you, the broker, are notified and protected.

Structuring solutions for sub-prime applications is our core competency, the long established mission of the company.  Mesa is a leader and innovator in the area of financing difficult transactions and offers both Leases & Equipment Finance Agreements (“EFAs”) to your clients.  An EFA is essentially a loan against existing equipment and is most often used to provide working capital or finance equipment recently purchased. It is generally much better than doing a sale-leaseback which is a cumbersome transaction in many jurisdictions.  We also offer an “EZ-EFA” which offers the same advantages as an EFA – but with no up front costs except a small documentation fee.

Transactions are approved based on the availability of additional collateral which can be readily liquidated in the event of default.  There is little concern for traditional credit analysis.  We are really interested in the answers to five questions.  They are:

  1. Is the proposed lessee - or one of his guarantors – a homeowner?
  2. Are there any open liens or judgments which can not be satisfied from these proceeds?
  3. Has any bankruptcy been discharged at least six months ago?
  4. Is the equipment to be located in California, Arizona or Nevada?
  5. Is there additional collateral (other equipment, vehicles, real estate, etc.) available?

If these questions can be answered favorably, Mesa can most likely do the deal for your customer, even if he has a 500 FICO score, low net worth, and a recently started business.

To assist Brokers in providing us with the information we need, we have a checklist to guide you through the process. The Brokers who take the time to complete this checklist know already if we’re going to approve the application. To download the checklist and its instructions, click here.
